Course Description
This course aims at developing students’ communicative competence to understand and produce oral and written texts in concrete and abstract situations and topics at an intermediate level and from an integrated skill approach that combines language skills and systems, considering students’ learning styles and the use of technological resources. The course is characterized by the systematic link between the English language, literature, culture and the development of the sociolinguistic and pragmatic competences in the personal, public, occupational and educational domains. It uses task and content based instruction and strategic learning as key course methodologies. This course matches the beginning of B2 level, known as ‘Vantage’ from the Common European Framework that considers the learner has taken approximately 500 chronological hours of English for the achievement of this level.
