Course Description
This course aims at developing students’ communicative competence to understand and produce simple oral and written texts at an elementary level and from an integrated skill approach that combines language skills and systems, considering students’ learning styles and the use of technological resources. The course is characterized by the systematic link between English and the development of the sociolinguistic and pragmatic competences in the personal, public, occupational and educational domains. It uses task and content based instruction and strategic learning as key course methodologies. This course matches the A 1 level, known as ‘breakthrough’ from the Common European Framework that considers between 180 and 200 chronological hours for the achievement of this level.
