Course Description
This course presents a general view of the structure of different sentence types in the English language from a structural and communicative perspective in order to facilitate the comprehension and production of spoken and written texts of intermediate level. The use of new technologies and a combination of theory and practice will facilitate the learning of contents. The course systematically links reflection through induction and structural analysis of the English language to the teaching-learning of Englishgrammar in the classroom, familiarizing future teachers of English with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that students should develop. Active participation of students, individually and in groups, through questions, clarification of doubts and error correction will help students to generate grammar explanations to interpret and create texts and correct statements
Assignment 1: Grammar in Real ContextThis assigment aims to recognize some specfic constituents and sentences with the structures asked by the teacher.
This task was quite difficult to me because I as a class we have not studied compound or complex sentences, so it was not easy to recognize them in long texts. |

Class Assignment 1: Noun Phrases in Context
The objective of this class assignment is being able to reconize the constituents and their structure in noun phrases found in the texts.
In my personal opinion, this assignment was not really difficult, especially because we had to make it with a partner, so we complemented our knowledge.

Class Assignment 2: Verb Phrases in Context
The objective of this class assignment is being able to recognize the constituents and their structure in verb phrases found in the text.
This task was a little more difficult than the previous one, and with my partner, we had some mitakes. But I think it was a good exercise that helped us to understand better verb phrases.

The objective of this assignment was to recognize tenses, modality and passive voice in songs chosen by ourselves.
Even though I thoyght this task would be easier, it was not easy at all to me. It was not easy finding different modal verbs or passive voice in the music that I usually listen to, so I had to start thinking about other singers and other songs that I did not know. |
